About Us

Thank you for your interest in USSSA Baseball. USSSA Baseball has nationally gained positive recognition due to the philosophy “More kids playing more baseball.” .

In November 1996, USSSA founded a highly anticipated and much needed program, USSSA Baseball. It registered over 1,000 teams in its inaugural season in 1997. The program also offered refreshing alternatives to the world of youth baseball. In November 1997, USSSA reorganized to become the United States Specialty Sports Association, a multi-sport organization. Some of the divisions of USSSA include baseball, basketball, softball, flag football, softball, volleyball, and more. Today USSSA is the largest multi-sport association in the world with over 4 million members.

More Kids Playing More Baseball

Our PHilosophy

The primary focus of USSSA Baseball is the development of programs that allow teams of all skill levels to compete against one another. USSSA believes the overall development of all players can be enhanced by the experience and fun of national tournament play.

Until now the majority of players were denied this opportunity because of their skill level. USSSA Baseball offers programs for four levels of play. Major and AAA programs are national programs that culminate in a World Series. The AA program is a regional program ran by the participating states that culminates at a National tournament. The A level is for recreational teams and is at a state level only.

Teams should follow the guidelines under the “Points and Classification” tab on the left. Teams that have not participated in USSSA in the past should sanction themselves as closely to the appropriate class as possible. NEW TEAMS CAN NOT SANCTION SINGLE-A. Teams must first register as AA (Double-A) and then play in 1 USSSA Tournament BEFORE moving down to Single-A. The USSSA State Office will follow teams and reclassify them accordingly.

  1. Go to www.usssa.com and click on Baseball.
  2. You will be required to fill in required information indicated by red arrows to the side of the fields. After filling out all required information, click on submit.
  3. Your log in id will be displayed. (Be sure to write down your log in id and password and keep it in a safe place, or simply print the page.) You will then be given the option to log in for the first time.
  4. Click on Create A Team or Member to register your team.
  5. Once you have filled out all required information (Team Info), click submit.
  6. A big yellow box will display asking you to register the team on line. Click on the button inside the box to go to the payment page. Fill in all required fields (Payment Info) on this page and click on Submit Payment.
  7. After your credit card has been approved, you will receive a confirmation page. It’s also a good idea to print this page.
  8. Click on Return to USSSA to go back to your team/member page. You will then be given the option to purchase team insurance on line, add your USSSA roster, etc. You will find your registration number to the right of your team class.

Any organization interested in hosting a tournament must contact the state office. General fees for the State and World Series Qualifiers include a $75 National Fee as well as a per team fee $25. Also, all teams in a USSSA tournament must be sanctioned USSSA (the team’s responsibility). If interested in hosting a USSSA Qualifying or State Tournament please contact the state office (708-675-1500) for fees and regulations. If hosting a tournament then your tournament will be marketed on the USSSA Website, USSSA IL Baseball website, and emailed to our entire database of teams. Also, go back to a “State Page” and click on “Hosting Information” for the other benefits of sanctioning.

You will need your log in id and password to access your team manager menu. Go to www.usssa.com and click on Baseball. Close to the top of the page, you will see a link that says Log In / Log Out. Click on that to log in. You will see your team listed in the middle of the page. Highlight the team name by clicking on it if it is not already highlighted. Below that, there is an option that says Roster Adds and Updates. Click in the circle next to it and click submit. An affidavit page will display. After reading the page, click on I Agree. This will bring you to the page where you enter your roster. In the add player box, type in the player first name, last name and then date of birth. Click add player. On the next page you will be required to select the player state. Save Player. Click View Team to enter your next player. When you have finished, you have the option for your printable roster on your team manager menu. Note: Make sure that you enter player’s date of birth in this format – 4/25/1973 If a player name has an apostrophe in it, leave it out. Do not add quotes to names.

A “Frozen Roster” is the same as a “Qualified Roster.” Teams that finish in the top 25% of a qualifying tournament will have their roster “frozen” after April 1st. However, teams will be able to make 3 Roster Additions* to their roster after the team is frozen. *Players can only be on 1 Frozen Roster. Players can not participate on any team below the classification of the oldest team on which they participate on.

Teams can qualify for a World Series by meeting BOTH criteria below: 1) Finishing in the top 25% of a USSSA Qualifying Tournament & 2) Playing in the USSSA State Championship. Teams should participate in the Highest Classification that their team qualified for (ie a team that finishes in the top 25% of a AAA tournament, should play in a AAA World Series).

  1. Go to www.usssa.com and click on Baseball, followed by “Log-In/Log-Out”.
